When I met Laurie on a flight back from San Francisco, I knew we would be instant friends. The flight home to New Hampshire was long enough to pretty much get "up to speed" on each others lives like we had been friends for years! And of course, as two strangers would obviously do while in discussion on a long flight, we discussed our battles and victories with love. We've stayed in touch since that flight, and I was beyond delighted to hear that she found her true love mere months later, in Alison. Planning their wedding for late this summer, Laurie and Ali wanted to schedule an engagement shoot- but also a family shoot with Laurie's three sons, and ex-husband Ken. It was such an inspiration to watch just how beautiful and different families can look these days. My hope is that you can see just what I mean in the following images... Congrats Laurie and Ali- can't wait for your special day!
One of my favorite families ever- but specifically - one of my favorite young professional mom's out there- she make it look so easy! So when she mentioned she was going to do a surprise birthday party for her awesome husband- and was hoping I would do a photobooth for it- I said of course!!! Check out the fun the guests had.... Oh, and happy birthday Bo!
Looking back at my college years, one of my favorite people of all time who always made me laugh- is my friend Andy. After many shows, years, and tons of laughter (catching a theme here), we hit official "adulthood", and life took over. When he met Amy, I knew that she was it, because SHE made him smile the way he made everyone else smile - and it was so amazing to visit with them and their absolutely adorable daughter Charlotte! We laughed the whole time- especially at Charlotte's "CHEESE's" and tickle-fests. I hope you enjoy their family photos:
Remember parents... I know your sessions are about your kids- capturing how they grow throughout the years... but remember that when they look back - they want to see YOU as partners in this life- the love you have for each other- but more importantly, how happy you make each other. They want to see you SMILE just looking at each other. Just like Andy and Amy! Charlotte will be able to look back and remember how FUN her parents are, and how important it is to have fun with the one you spend your life with. Andy & Aimes, thanks for a great session! XO
This family is so special to us that it was my pleasure to capture their growing family last fall... just before the crazy winter hit us, we went out in Manchester at Stark Park to let the kids run around, frame up some family photos for their Christmas Card... and just hangout.
How gorgeous are they!!!
And of course... we had fun with props:
And the kids got their own moments to shine...
There are certain shoots where every piece to the puzzle falls into place... just like this one! Not only did the family bulldog Maddie make her way into too many great shots, but the furniture, the outfits, the posing - the Graham's knew how to work a shoot!
The 2012 piece to their puzzle... The family wanted to make sure they got some pictures infront of their gorgeous new home...
Put together, some of the center of every family puzzle... Is the sibling love...
Important pieces to every family puzzle... Individually they hold their own... Oldest to youngest...
And last but not least - the final pieces to the puzzle - the ones that provide those corner parts that offer structure and guidance. This gorgeous couple could easily be mistaken for siblings! But these parents deserved their own cameo in the shoot, so we made sure to get some close ups...
I love when families get together to have a joint family shoot! Taking advantage of having everyone at the shoot is a perfect way to spend the day together - but capture those special family memories as well!
One of the great benefits of gathering everyone for family shoots is that each family gets group shots, but also their individual shots of their kids....
and they can even get some couple shots in there!
But the best is getting the group shots of everyone together! What's not to fall in love with during a Fall Family Photo Shoot!
