Love... There is so much to say about the Menard wedding... but the one and only word that comes to me is that- LOVE. Together for years before their big day, these sweethearts couldn't couldn't keep their hands off each other. They laughed, and cried and simply savored every moment of their special day. All of the friends and family who attended were such an expression of how much love was in that room at all times, and you could just tell the kind of support the newlyweds will continue to have on their journey. Laced through every moment of the wedding was Sarah's mother, Mary- who was present in every detail: every kiss, every tear, every smile, every dance move- every breath... she was there- with her loving arms wrapped around her daughter and new son-in law. Her presence was felt by all- and I hope that the photos do her the justice of the AMAZING LOVE she inspired throughout the day. To the gorgeous bride and handsome groom- may your days as a married couple be filled with excitement and learning, laughter and prosperity, opportunities and challenges, but most importantly- love. It was such a distinct pleasure to be a part of your day. XO
If I had one piece of advice for all the future newlyweds out there... it would be as simple as this: "Be like Paula & Mike." I mean that in every genuine and honest sense- and I'm sure one of my favorite couples of all time are shaking their heads as they read this... but I mean it. Despite the fact that neither like to be the center of attention- because they don't. I mean, they REALLY don't. And despite the fact that for one hot second after their "first look" I was worried they may skip the whole ceremony and just go elope - haha - no seriously! Despite the fact that they may have been ready for the whole shebang to be behind them... THEY are who I wish we could bottle and sell to all soon-to-be newlyweds out there, and I will tell you why. I've been fortunate to know Paula for nearly a decade now- from our days as Regis College ladies- and she was always one of the kindest, sweetest, and FUNNIEST ladies I knew. But when I met Mike last year for their engagement shoot- I just melted. His sense of humor when partnered with patience, is simply adorable. The two glow of adoration when they look at each other. They smile so big you can feel their ears hurt, because your ears are hurting smiling as you watch them! And their wedding day was anything but what I would coin a "smile-fest." So why would I tell all you future married beautiful couples out there to be like Paula & Mike? Because on your wedding day- despite nerves or not wanting to be the center of attention- you should depend on your better half to get you through it- to laugh with you at the schedule chaos and the silly traditional necessities. Your smiles should stretch across your faces at even the simplest touch of your love's hand. The best part of your night should be when you can get on the dance floor and let loose! Because that's what they did. They laughed... They cried... and boy did they DANCE! I hope you enjoy the extremely long blog post that follows... because it was too hard for me to not show the rest of the photos from their amazing day. Paula & Mike- all my love. XO
By far one of the sweetest weddings we have ever attended! These two beautiful men have been in my wife's life for years now- and now are fast and true friends of mine! This weekend was spent at the Sage Inn and the party started on Friday night. Friends and family from all over traveled down the cape to celebrate this amazing duo, and I hope you can see the love and laughter spilling out of these photos. Oh- and was it memorable! These boys showed their guests a night they'd never forget... Check out who made a guest appearance! Andy & Jason, thank you for letting me be a part of your incredible day. XO
One of my favorite families ever- but specifically - one of my favorite young professional mom's out there- she make it look so easy! So when she mentioned she was going to do a surprise birthday party for her awesome husband- and was hoping I would do a photobooth for it- I said of course!!! Check out the fun the guests had.... Oh, and happy birthday Bo!
Looking back at my college years, one of my favorite people of all time who always made me laugh- is my friend Andy. After many shows, years, and tons of laughter (catching a theme here), we hit official "adulthood", and life took over. When he met Amy, I knew that she was it, because SHE made him smile the way he made everyone else smile - and it was so amazing to visit with them and their absolutely adorable daughter Charlotte! We laughed the whole time- especially at Charlotte's "CHEESE's" and tickle-fests. I hope you enjoy their family photos:
Remember parents... I know your sessions are about your kids- capturing how they grow throughout the years... but remember that when they look back - they want to see YOU as partners in this life- the love you have for each other- but more importantly, how happy you make each other. They want to see you SMILE just looking at each other. Just like Andy and Amy! Charlotte will be able to look back and remember how FUN her parents are, and how important it is to have fun with the one you spend your life with. Andy & Aimes, thanks for a great session! XO
Evan and I have been friends for over a decade now... she was one of my first Regis friends- and like most women at an all women's college- one of my closest. You learn in college that sometimes your friends are the family you chose for yourself... And once they are your family, you look forward to every big moment for them... especially when they are about to have a baby! So happy for Ev and Stacey as they expect their little one any moment now!
I can't say how much of a pleasure it was to be a part of such an incredible day. I've know Biz and Jon for a while now, but have never seen them happier than on that day. Here is the first set of photos... as there were so many incredible ones, there will be additional posts- but for now, introducing Mr. and Mrs. Logan...
